Most people never think about vehicle features such as electronic doors and windows, electronic steering and braking, dynamic suspension and propulsion, or keyless access — despite using them every day. This is where the expertise of Aptiv’s Connectivity & Security team comes along. The Krakow team contributed to building Aptiv’s solution – the Secure Connected Gateway that manages the network in the vehicle, and is responsible for security, data collection and analytics. The gateway acts as a single point of entry into and exit out of the vehicle, providing fewer attack surfaces. Kudos to our cybersecurity experts!

Currently, driving simulators and traffic simulation models have limited use in safety studies due to the limited realism of road users’ behaviors in models. SIMUSAFE (SIMUlator of Behavioral Aspects for SAFEr Transport) - a project financed by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program, developed by our Advanced Engineering team. Using a three-phase research cycle, SIMUSAFE will bridge this gap by collecting and integrating sources of road user behavior to build more realistic simulation environments.
It's not the only project we research with the support of EU subventions. The last one, allows a car to detect when a driver is distracted or unaware of a hazard outside the vehicle and proactively warns them to prevent a life-threatening incident before it occurs. Kudos to the teams that makes our world safer!
