3D Gesture Recognition System Wins PACE Innovation Partnership Award

Technology development today is all about collaboration and teamwork.

The BMW team that introduced the 3D Gesture Recognition System on the 2016 BMW 7 Series sedan were recognized this week by the Automotive News PACE panel of judges for an Innovation Partnership Award.

The PACE judges understand that “special levels” of supplier and OEM collaboration rise above everyday joint efforts and need to be highlighted to the entire global automotive industry as “best practices.”

This award was determined by the full independent panel of PACE judges. All judges are asked to review the particular ways suppliers and OEMs worked to commercialize the PACE Finalist innovations. Judges select to showcase only those OEMs whose collaborative efforts made both a strategic market entry and competitive timing difference to their supplier’s process of commercializing their product or process innovation.
