Aptiv delivers best-in-class Digital Cockpit experiences across a wide variety of domains, including Audio, Interior Sensing, Full-Cabin Android-Based Infotainment, and Real-Time Vision, which includes surround-view monitoring and eMirrors. As a systems integrator, we work with OEMs to combine Aptiv software, functional safety, cybersecurity and customer proprietary software such as cluster, vehicle and fleet management services.
Today, users expect the same digital and connected experience in their car as they have in other parts of their lives, such as on their phones or in their homes. To enable this, Aptiv is helping transform the vehicle into a software-defined platform.
Our cloud-native approach to software development leverages containerization and other tools and services to provide an open and modular software platform. It ensures feature freshness and continual post-production updates through secure, data-driven analytics – enabled by Wind River software – unlocking value while enabling new flexible business models.

Aptiv is a leader in audio, working with multiple OEMs over more than 10 years to provide premium audio experiences and highly flexible, scalable solutions. That flexibility shines through in several ways:
- At Audi, we deployed our solution on 115 vehicle variants, all using the same base software and customized using our audio tooling software.
- Our compute solution can support a wide range of audio capabilities, from basic audio systems to premium sound with more than 30 independent audio channels.
- We offer supply chain and platform flexibility, with a broad portfolio of SoCs across multiple suppliers.
- The software-first design of the Aptiv Cockpit Sound Suite enables it to improve over time, making it easier to update and upgrade features both for new platforms and for vehicles already on the road.
Interior Sensing
SUPPORTING SCALABLE FUNCTIONALITY FOR SAFETY, COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
Aptiv has a history of innovation and technology leadership in driver and cabin monitoring. Aptiv was first to market with full-system cabin monitoring in 2015 for a luxury German OEM. We have gone to production on more than 50 nameplates and shipped more than 15 million units with multiple global OEMs.

- Provides flexibility of feature sets and camera configurations, with support ranging from a single camera to multi-sensor systems featuring cameras and radar
- Abstracts core software from hardware to enable continuous updates
- Uses a containerized software architecture to allow faster porting across SoCs and domains
- Has the flexibility to deploy on ADAS domain controllers, infotainment domain controllers and standalone ECUs
- Fulfills regulatory requirements such as GSR 2 and GB/T, as well as Euro NCAP safety requirements
Android Automotive OS with OTA
Android Automotive OS combines with over-the-air (OTA) updates to allow vehicles to evolve and improve over time.
Aptiv delivered the world’s first vehicle infotainment solution with Google apps and services built-in on the Polestar 2, followed by the Volvo XC40.
Volvo XC40 was also the first Volvo to receive real-time OTA software and operating system updates, as well as automotive apps created by the global Android developer community. Since then, Aptiv has delivered a dozen Android Automotive solutions tied to infotainment systems to major OEMs globally, both in passenger and commercial vehicles.
This approach enables built-in access to services such as Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play Store.
Aptiv works with Google and leads the development and integration of Android Automotive OS, while gaining early access to Android updates and features.
Real Time Vision
Aptiv’s software supports real-time processing of external camera streams and graphics rendering for informational ADAS applications, such as back-up cameras, eMirrors, digital mirrors and surround-view cameras.
We support multiple camera configurations and SoCs for system scalability, allowing customers to deploy the same software across all trim levels. By abstracting the core software from the hardware, we enable the system to improve over time with continuous software updates.
