Furthering Aptiv’s commitment to keeping its employees and communities safe during this unprecedented time, The Aptiv Foundation has donated $500,000 to the GlobalGiving COVID-19 Relief Fund, which is helping some of the most vulnerable communities around the world deal with the pandemic.

GlobalGiving is a non-profit organization that connects donors with grassroot projects and locally-driven organizations in 170 countries. Upon learning of the coronavirus, they organized a COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist communities with meeting urgent healthcare and emergency response needs, including sending doctors, nurses, and other front line responders to communities in need; getting masks, ventilators, and other lifesaving medical supplies to hospitals and clinics; delivering essential items to people struggling in quarantined cities and refugee camps; feeding children who rely on school meals as their primary source of nutrition; supporting hygiene awareness efforts, and much more.

“As a global company with operations around the world, we know that by partnering with GlobalGiving we will be able to help protect and make a difference in the communities Aptiv employees call home,” said Rachelle Valdez, president of The Aptiv Foundation. “Doing the right thing is the cornerstone of Aptiv’s values, which is why we’re proud to do our part to help combat this disease.”

Aptiv is also doing its part in the communities in which it operates, by supplying local hospitals with masks and gloves and helping its customers produce critical equipment with engineered components for ambulances, ventilators, generators, and agricultural equipment.

The Aptiv Foundation, Inc. was established in 1999 as an independent, non-profit organization to further Aptiv’s mission to deliver safe, green and connected technologies that enable the future of mobility. The foundation contributes to programs that focus on outreach activities and education – primarily in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) – in the communities in which Aptiv operates around the world.
